Volunteering in a local youth group for five years and studying a secondary teaching degree gave Loveena a genuine insight into how tough young people found the pressure to look good and perfect from the outside. In contrast, working in high end retail to support herself through university opened her eyes to a vast amount of customers with negative body images who came in wanting to wear what the mannequins were modeling, or the latest outfits they saw in magazines – their vulnerability left them as easy targets to be bullied into quick sales.
After participating in the Body Think training day with Dove, and running Body Think programs in her youth group, Loveena couldn’t shake the feeling she needed to do something. A soon to be qualified teacher, knowing the ins and outs of fashion through years of experience in retail, and having a personal insight on the effects of negative body image and self esteem provided the powerful catalyst to form Styled With Love.
The vision behind Styled with Love is to style real people, with real bodies, and to see them enjoy the satisfaction and self-confidence that this can bring.
In her spare time, Loveena loves speaking and providing education at schools about positive body image and self-esteem. Loveena also loves cooking, reading and exploring the trendy cafes of Melbourne. She lives with the two loves of her life, her husband Ben and dog Beau.
